pam

Pam Christian-ShipmanOwner of Success Center for Learning, attended Paris Junior College before entering Stephen F. Austin State University where she received her B.Ed. degree. She then graduated from East Texas State University with a M.Ed. degree in supervision and curriculum. She has taught math, elementary school, middle school gifted/talented and high school reading. She also served as an administrator with the Paris I.S.D. for ten years. Pam has two children-Trase and Mally and is married to Robert Shipman. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and cooking.

patty

Patty Echols, Center Director at Success Center for Learning, received her B.S. degree in mathematics from Texas A&M-Commerce, and has worked for Success Center since 1999.  She is married to Lance Echols, and they have one son, Dalton.  In her spare time, she volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America throughout the year by leading her son’s Cub Scout den.  Patty enjoys photography, camping, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

ruth

Ruth Lestock received a BA and MA from Valparaiso University and Western Michigan University. In addition to her teaching duties at Success Center, Ruth is the SAT/ACT and College Prep Coordinator. Her teaching experiences include East Texas Literacy Council, Kilgore College, McLennan Community College Adult Education, and Paris Junior College Adult Education. She has two grown children - Emily Ransom and Alex Lestock, and two grandaughters. Hobbies include bird watching, reading, gardening, and walking her dog.

alva

Alva Mason received her B.S. in Mathematics from Texas A & M-Commerce.  She currently teaches at Paris High School in addition to adjunct teaching at Paris Jr. College.  In 2007, Alva was selected as the Region 8 Teacher of the Year.  She enjoys reading, shopping, and spending time with her family and has a daughter who attends Texas A&M-Commerce.

ann

Ann Kuebler has a B.A. in biology and a minor in chemistry from Texas A&M University, College Station. She previously taught biology at North Lamar High School and was voted NLHS Teacher of the Year 2002. She is married to Kevin Kuebler, and they have two children, William and Caroline. She enjoys volunteering at the Sam Bell Maxey House and is active in the Daughters of the American Revolution.

paula

Paula Welch attended Denison Business College and Paris Junior College.  She plans to become a certified early childhood teacher with a special education certification.  She has been a Special Service Inclusion Assistant at Justiss Elementary School since 1997 and with Success Center since 2009.   In her spare time, she enjoys being with family and friends.

Amelia Frierson received her B.S. Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Special Education from Texas A&M University-College Station. She also received her Masters Degree in Psychology with specializations in teaching bilingual and special education as well as Principal's Certification.  She taught 6th grade math for 3 years at Crockett Middle School; PK-5 special education at Aaron Parker Elementary School for 4 years and special education at Spring Shadows Elementary for 2 years.  She and husband Matt Frierson have 3 children:  Sidney, Mazy, and Grant.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends. 

myrna

Myrna Look is an instructor at Success Center.  She received her B.S. degree in Education from East Texas State University and also has reading and special education certifications.  She taught 4th and 6th grades and spent over 11 years as the reading specialist at Success Center before retiring a few years ago.  She has three grown children and nine grandchildren.  She enjoys painting, reading, and knitting. 

virgina

Virginia Pry attended Sam Houston State University and Texas Women's University where she received a BBA in Business Education and math certification.  She has taught math in several school districts including Hearne, Marlin, Frisco, and Bonham.  She has two children and one grandchild.  She loves spending time with her family (especially her grandchild!), backpacking, golf, and hiking.

Wendy Dougherty, In-School Director at Success Center, is a graduate of Paris Junior College, Texas Tech University and East Texas University. She has her B.S. and M.S. degrees. She also has School Counselor Certification. She has taught Algebra, Geometry, Science, and Computer Science. She is married to Mike Dougherty, and they have two children, Beth Ann and Ryan. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys playing the piano, cooking and working on her house.

Karen Baker has an Associates in Arts degree from Carl Albert State College and both a B.S. in Elementary Education and Masters in Reading from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She has taught 3-year-olds for the Lamar County Head Start program since 1995. Prior to that, she taught at the Choctaw Nation Head Start program for two years. Currently, Karen is the librarian at Bailey Intermediate School at North Lamar.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading.

wadonna

Wadonna Cherry received her B.A. degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.  After teaching two years in Nacogdoches, she moved to Paris where she has taught in the Paris I.S.D. for the past 15 years.  She is married to Roosevelt Cherry, Jr. and has two sons.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family.

shannon

Shannon Tener is the Office Manager at Success Center.  She attended Paris Jr. College and received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiology Technology.  She has two children, Autumn and Zachary.  She says she is a military brat and the proud mother of a U.S. Marine.  In her spare time, she enjoys puzzles, reading, and arts and crafts.

sabrina

Sabrina Rosson a former teacher and assistant principal at Aikin Elementary School, attended Paris Jr. College and then went on to East Texas State University (now Texas A&M-Commerce) where she received both her Bachelor's and Master's of Education degrees.  She is married to Jeff Rosson and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.  She enjoys cooking, reading, quilting, and spending time with her family.  In 1998, she was Aikin Elementary School's Teacher of the Year.  She was also selected as Region 8's Assistant Principal of the Year.  Currenty, she serves as secretary for the Lamar-Delta Retired Teachers' Organization.

Dylan Hevron graduated with a B.A degree in English from Texas Tech University after attending Paris Jr. College.  He is the son of Don and Kim Hevron and has one brother Zachary.  Dylan is also the grandson of Myrna Look, long-time instructor at Success Center.

skidmore

Ryan Skidmore graduated with both his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Texas A&M University-Commerce.  He taught Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at Prairiland I.S.D.  Currently, he teaches Chemistry, Dual Credit A&P, and Dual Credit Biology at Chisum High School and was the school’s 2014-15 Teacher of the Year.  Ryan is married to Christie who teaches 2nd grade at Chisum and has a son Nickolos.  In his spare time, he enjoys reading, movies, and fitness. 
 

joyce

Joyce Schaeffer attended Paris Jr. College and Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce Universities.  She received her B.S., M.S., M.Ed., and Ed.D degrees. Thoughout her education career, she has been a teacher, counselor, principal, Assistant Superintendent-Curriculum, Assistant Professor at TAMU, and Agile Mind Consultant.  Joyce is a Paul Harris Fellow (Rotary) and is married to Ed Shaeffer.  She has two sons, Brett Johnson and Chad Johnson.  In her spare time, she enjoys running and hiking and is a naturalist.

bolton

Virginia Bolton attended Paris Jr. College and graduated from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M-Commerce) with her B.S. and M.Ed. degrees.  She also received her Mid-Management and Superintendent’s certifications from there.  She taught in the North Lamar ISD for 14 years and then served in administrative positions at North Lamar for 14 years.  She is married to Sonny Bolton and has 3 children (Shannon, Chuck, and Brad), 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and gardening.
